Let’s have a look at what the features are:

  • iAdapt Navigation uses a full suite of sensors to navigate and adapt to your changing home
  • 3-Stage Cleaning System agitates, brushes and suctions floors
  • Dirt Detect Series II identifies dirtier areas and focuses cleaning where it’s needed most
  • Conveniently schedule up to 7x per week, or just press CLEAN on the robot
  • Automatically dock and recharges, adjust to all floor types
  • Roomba 770 manual

This robot vacuum has optical and acoustic sensors, and many robotic behaviours which allow it to move around your room to clean it. It has wall following technology, and the sensors help it adapt to the objects in your room which, in the end makes it clean more efficiently.

The 3-Stage Cleaning System has a side brush, which helps move dirt into the suction underneath the robot, it also has 2 rotating brushes, great for picking up pet hair, and a more powerful suction to get a cleaner floor.
The Dirt Detect Series II on the Roomba 770 uses 2 sensors to detect dirtier areas, an optical sensor and an acoustic sensor, which allows it to detect dirtier bits more accurately, then it uses it’s persistent pass function, to go over the area back and forth to pick up the most amount of dirt it can.

This robot vacuum has a large dirt collecting bin, which has 2 hepa filters inside, this helps to collect up smaller particles, including pet dander, which is helpful if you have allergies. This robot vacuum also has an indicator light when the bin is full. There is also a spot cleaning function if you have spilled something in an area. You can just place the Roomba vacuum onto the spill and it will clean in a spiral till it gets it all up.
You can schedule cleaning on this iRobot vacuum up to 7 times a week, although it is easy to set it to clean manually using the remote control supplied, or the clean button on the machine itself.

The iRobot Roomba 770 automatically goes back to its docking station if it needs to re-charge it’s battery or when it has finished it’s cleaning cycle. It has a self adjusting cleaning head, which deals with all types of flooring including carpets.

If you have areas you don’t want to let this vacuum cleaner loose in, then you can use the 2 virtual lighthouse/walls that come with the unit. These run off ordinary C type batteries and can send out a straight line signal for straight areas like doorways or a circular signal around itself to stop the cleaner from going to specific rooms or furniture that could easily knocked over. The Roomba 770 also has clifftop sensors which can detect stairs and steps.

Who is the Roomba 770 for?

All in all, this is a pretty clever piece of equipment, one of the top 10 robot vacuum cleaners in our opinion. It cleans very well, and can clean all on it’s own, so you don’t have to. So if you hate cleaning, need to clean daily to keep down pet hair, or want to free up your time when you are home, then this can help you out.

If you like a hi-tech gadget, that doesn’t take up too much space, is as cute as a puppy and almost as entertaining, and if you don’t mind spending a few dollars to enjoy that pleasure, then this is for you.

Customer Opinion

Good Points

A lot of customers commented on the powerful suction, picking up better and being more capable of cleaning dirty areas. It’s not too noisy and can manoeuvre around furniture easily. Once you start using this, you can’t imagine life without it.

Bad Points

The unit has problems with dark colour, either floors or rugs so if your house has either of these, then it might not work right for you. Depending on how often you use it you will have to change the brushes through wear and tear, you will have to factor that cost in.

Based on this iRobot Roomba 770 review we feel this is a very good robot vacuum cleaner if you have pets, and want to try one out without spending too much money. It’s not the cheapest option but you pay for a more upgraded and efficient system on the Roomba 770 and it includes a virtual lighthouse.

If you’re ready to take the leap buy the iRobot Roomba 770 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner at
