ILIFE V3s Review
There are different types of robot vacuum cleaners out there and it’s helpful to know what you want, or at least what you don’t want. There are robots that can wash your floor, wi-fi controlled robot vacuums, or controlled by a handset supplied. There is obviously top of the range and expensive and then the cheaper range. The ILIFE robot vacuum is in the latter, so let’s see what features are offered for a low price:

- Ideal for hard wood floor. Easy operation with remote control, or auto clean all at one touch.
This ILIFE V3s Pro does 3 things at once, it will vacuum with the suction opening in the base of the unit, it will sweep using the 2 side brushes which sweep debris into the path of the vacuum and if it has the dry mop unit attached it will do that as well with the enclosed pad.
The pet hair technology means it concentrates on pet hair with the 2 side brushes and the dry mop on the bottom, so what the vacuum hasn’t sucked up the cloth will get.
This Ilife innovation is only 3 inches tall, so it is small enough to be able to fit underneath a lot of furniture, it’s one of the slimmest vacuums out there which allows it to clean more hard to reach places. It’s especially good for under the bed and the sofa.
This robot vacuum comes with a docking unit which it will return to when it runs down on battery and charge itself. It comes with built in smart sensors, 14 sets of them, including in the bumper around the edge of it so it can avoid bumping around into your furniture, or falling down steps or stairs.
It comes with a remote control which allows easy scheduling if you want to plan your robot to clean while you’re out. You can also use the remote control to manually start your vacuum cleaning, send it to spot clean, send it around the edge of the room if you feel it needs it or you can just send it to start cleaning and it will do it’s own thing until it runs down on battery life and returns to charge.
You can also just press the button on the top of the unit to start cleaning too.
This budget robot vacuum is relatively quiet as far as vacuum cleaners go which means you can sit in the room with it working around you and it’s comfortable and not too noticeable. It only has a 55db noise level. It has a 2600 mah fade-free battery, which means to you and me that it can run constantly for around 100 minutes before needing to be re-charged, and a charging time of 250 to 300 minutes. It can also move between levels on the floor of 10mm height so it can move between hard floor and carpet as long as it isn’t deep pile.
If you press on the top of the unit it will open and you can find the dust bin inside, it can hold a decent amount although it is recommended to clean out after each use. There are 2 filters inside the dust bin, a hepa filter and a nylon filter which can be cleaned by running under water. With a hepa filter trapping smaller dust and mite particles it is good for people with allergies. The hepa filter and the nylon filter can be cleaned with the brush included, but the hepa filter can’t be washed so will need to changed regularly. These filters can be bought on Amazon.com for a reasonable price, also spare side brushes and dry mopping pads.
Its a great robot vacuum for cleaning on hard surfaces not so good on carpet.
It does a good job of cleaning but you need to clear the floor first.
This is a good cost effective choice and it has ample features to make it a must have accessory.
Some of the cons are that it can get stuck fairly easily, if you have a lot of carpet it is better to remove the dry mop from the base as that can create drag on a carpet.
It finds it hard to find it’s way home and often has to be placed back on the dock.
Because it cleans in a random pattern, similar to a Roomba 650 it’s hard to tell if it has done a good cleaning job.
The ILIFE V3s Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is for you if you’re looking for a robot vacuum at a lower price with scheduling and features that will give you a good clean on a hardwood floor. and is a contender for the best robot vacuum under $200. If you need a robot vacuum that is better on both hard floor and carpet then check our reviews on the iRobot 650 or this Neato robot vacuum which are both budget friendly units.
