The Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S is the newer version of the original eufy robovac 11 and what it has improved is in the height of the vacuum as this new slimmer version is only 2.9 inches high compared to the Roomba 650 which is 3.6 inches high. That might make all of the difference between a robot vacuum fitting under your furniture or not.
The Eufy 11S is circular in design and measure 12.8 inches in diameter with an anti-scratch, tempered glass top which gives a shiny, sleek look to this robotic vacuum.
It is controlled either by the start button on the top of the robot vacuum or by using the remote control that comes with it. This has a basic control system and doesn’t come with wifi or smart capability. If you’re looking for that check out the Roomba 690 but if it doesn’t bother you then keep reading.
You will receive a docking station with your robot vacuum which needs to be placed against a wall with a bit of space around it so that the vacuum has space to manoeuvre it’s way onto it when it returns to recharge. You will initially place the Eufy robovac 11s on the station to do it’s first charge up, when the light is blue it is fully charged and ready to clean.
The battery life on this robot vacuum is very good and it can clean for up to 100 minutes depending on the surfaces it is cleaning.
The remote control can be used to send your Eufy to clean and it can also be used to send it back home to the dock if you wish. You also have the ability to set a scheduled cleaning time so that you can clean without having to remember, it will just start cleaning by itself at the set time. You have a few cleaning modes that you can use, automatic which is the main default cleaning mode, spot clean to use if you have a spillage. There is also edge clean if you feel it hasn’t covered the edges of the room well enough, single room clean where it will clean one room intensively for around 30 minutes and manual clean where you can control the movement of the vacuum using the directional buttons on the remote.
The RoboVac 11s has a rotary brush underneath the vacuum and 2 spinning side brushes which all work together to brush the dirt into the suction. There is also a suction choice depending on your floor surface and how dirty you feel it is. You have the standard suction mode, the max mode which is great if you have carpets and the new boost IQ mode which automatically decides if it needs to boost the suction or not.
The Eufy 11s doesn’t have any kind of room mapping sensors so cleans in a random pattern which moves around the floorspace that it can access till it thinks it has done it all or until it runs out of charge when it will return to the docking station. This hasn’t got the sensors to allow it to return to complete a clean where it left off as the cleaning is random but these vacuums can clean the floor surprisingly well all the same. The sensors included help it to avoid obstacles, detect dirt, detect drops like stairs and ledges, this means you don’t have to worry if you use it upstairs and it won’t batter you’re furniture legs as it cleans around them.
There is a removable dust bin in the side of the vacuum which you just need to empty on a daily basis or after a clean. It includes the filters to stop the dust from blowing back into the air as it moves over the floor. To clean these just tap into your rubbish bin. Occasionally you will need to check the brushes underneath to remove any tangled hair and wipe the sensors, luckily not much maintenance required.
What customers are liking the most about this robotic vacuum is that they can set it to clean and it does, they can walk on hardwood floors without footwear and not feel gritty underfoot. They like the price compared to others and some have even found it works quite well on dark floors. Most people love the fact that it is not overly noisy even on hardwood floors.
The biggest problems people have found is that some of them had issues with it not returning to base and charging properly. Some buyers have had problems with it not working or stopping working after a couple of months. Others have had issues with it getting stuck in places and not being able to get itself out.
If you’re looking for a budget robot vacuum that doesn’t break the bank but can clean well then you should look at the Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S (Slim) Robot Vacuum Cleaner. It doesn’t connect to wifi but that can be a blessing in disguise as it gives less issues. You can do everything you need from the remote control. It works well on hardwood floors and medium pile carpets. It’s a good value robot vacuum for the price.
