bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum Cleaner and Mop Review
This is a cheap robot vacuum with a lot of options but if you want to check our Top 10 Best Robot Vacuums to buy 2017 you may find others.
We will have a look at what the suppliers are telling us about the features of the Bobsweep vacuum and we’ll discuss our thoughts on them.
- Specially designed for cleaning up pet hair and paw prints
- Simultaneously sweeps, vacuums, mops, and UV sterilizes all types of floors
- 1-Liter dustbin is the largest in the industry
- HEPA filtration removes harmful allergens from the air
- Personalized cleaning schedule and automatic self-charging
The bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum Cleaner and Mop comes in 2 colours, rouge and champagne, although the rouge or red is usually cheaper. The look of this robot vacuum is very glamorous, a beautiful shiny exterior with an LCD display on the top. It looks like a mopping robot vacuum you would be happy to display.
What’s in the box
Apart from Bob the robot vacuum, you have the docking station, you have 2 side brushes and also a crosshead screwdriver and a couple of screws for attaching the side brush. You have a spare hepa filter, a spare brush. You get the mop attachment and a couple of microfibre mopping cloths which attach onto the velcro of the attachment. You get a brush cleaner for cleaning hair out of the sweeping brush, Blindfold and Bumper Stickers and you get the remote control.
Now the vacuum can clean up your carpets and hardwood floors, it can negotiate between rooms although it may have problems getting on and off rugs, depending on their height and sometimes the colour. Like the iRobot Roomba 650 and others it sometimes has problems with dark floors and black lines on rugs, the sensor thinks it is the edge of a shelf so it won’t go over it, although they do supply some stickers which you can stick over the sensors so you can get it to work in those areas.
The main differences on this robot cleaner is the fact that it has a uv light on the bottom which sterilizes the floor as it goes along and it has a mop attachment which can wet wipe the floor. It’s called a mopping robot but there is no water collection so don’t stick it in a spilled puddle and hope it mops it up, it is more of a damp, wipe function, but still as an interim clean a pretty good option.
Bob the robot has a hepa filter installed so it can filter out tiny particles from the floor and in the air including dust mites and mould, so very helpful if you have allergies.
Within the docking station are the buttons to set the time and the scheduling function. You can set the robot vacuum to clean every day if you wish or set days of the week. There is also a resume function that will send Bob back to cleaning once he has been re-charged. When the batteries run down to 15% the robot vacuum will head back to the docking station by himself to re-charge. (I’m already beginning to think of this robot as a human!)
The bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum Cleaner and Mop has three cleaning modes, it can navigate through a room using Waffle TrackTM, Wall TrackTM, and Spiral TrackTM technologies. The 3 cleaning options are Automatic, which means it will clean wherever it can get to until it’s finished or runs down on battery. There is the Quick Clean which lasts for about 30 minutes across a medium sized area and finally the Touch Up which is 15 minutes across a small area.
For a cheap robot vacuum cleaner the Bobsweep has a lot of functions that are available on more expensive models, at 3.9 inches tall it’s not the smallest but it’s a reasonable height to get under furniture. Lets see what the customers think of it.
Most customers are very happy with Bobs cleaning ability and though one or two customers have had some issues, the customer service is apparently second to none.
Can handle a large space but some people have found it handy to shut Bob into 1 room at a time for a thorough clean.
Can handle pet hair very easily.
This is a great unit if you have problems with dust when cleaning as you don’t have to be up close and personal with the machine while it’s doing the work.
Some of the negatives from customers are the fact that it gets stuck a few times probably due to the small wheels and the cleaning seems random with too much in one area and not enough in others.
Some have had trouble with Bob not returning to the base station.
A customer mentioned the mopping system wasn’t very good as it meant continually changing the cloth and you could see where it would miss.
This bObsweep PetHair Robotic Vacuum Cleaner and Mop is a pretty good machine for the price. It has a lot of functions although it seems that it might be better on hard floors rather than carpet as there is less to get stuck on. If you’re looking for a cheap model which allows you to schedule cleaning, has a strong suction and is good for pet hair and allergies, then this could be your boy, I mean robot vacuum.
