Best cheap robot vacuum 2017
#1 iRobot Roomba 650 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
In our opinion the Roomba 650 is the best robot vacuum under 300, it can work on any floor surface and has no problems transitioning between hard floor and carpets. The iRobot make is well known in the robot vacuum world and this iRobot Roomba 650 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is one of the most popular. Check the current price on the banner below. This robot vacuum offers scheduling so you can clean while you are out, it’s easily set up with the buttons on the unit itself, there are no separate remote controls.
It can be manually started by pressing the clean button on the top, it will clean in every area it can access in a random pattern. The machine is 3.6 inches high so can fit under beds and some furniture. It can run for up to 60 minutes on one charge and when it runs down on battery power will return to the dock. The dust bin is accessed underneath the vacuum and it holds the filter, you will be surprised at how much dirt this machine can pick up.
The vacuum has 2 rotary brushes and a side brush and with good suction can do a good job of picking up most types of dirt and pet hair. The Roomba 650 has sensors that detect where objects are so that it can avoid them and drop sensors to stop it from going off the end of a step. This also comes with a virtual wall which can put up a barrier that your robot can’t pass and can protect certain items that might be knocked over or to stop your vacuum moving out of or into a certain area.
This robot vacuum has a proven record with many happy buyers so we feel happy to recommend it as our no1 choice.
#2 Eufy RoboVac 11, High Suction, Self-Charging Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
The Eufy RoboVac 11 is a good cheap option in a robot vacuum, it’s price at the moment is stated on the banner below. The Eufy can clean hardwood floors and carpet but the carpet must be low pile, it has a low profile of only 3.1 inches and uses a 3 point cleaning system where it uses 2 rotary brush and 2 side brushes underneath along with the suctions to clean everything off the floor.
It does have a max suction option for going over carpets which may be useful. This robot vacuum can run for 1.5 hours on one charge which means it can cover a good amount of floor and when it runs down on charge it will turn off the vacuum suction to conserve what battery life it has left while it returns to the dock.
The vacuum comes with a hepa filter so can keep the dust particles low and the dust bin is large. The RoboVac comes with a remote control and this can be used to schedule cleaning while you are out, you can set it to clean every day if you wish. It also has the ability to let you manually control the robot in any direction you wish or to take it to a certain area to start cleaning.
You can use the handset to set it to edge clean, switch on the max cleaning function, do a spot clean or a single room clean. One of the most noticeable things about the Eufy is how quietly it cleans, even with the max function being used so great if you want to use it when your children are asleep or if you are in an apartment and don’t want to disturb your neighbours. The sensors on board stop it from bumping into objects and falling down steps. All in all a good amount of features and cleanability for the price.
#3 ECOVACS DEEBOT N79 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
The ECOVACS DEEBOT N79 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is our 3rd choice and it’s current price is on the banner below. The Deebot is an Amazon.com bestseller so we know customers like this robot vacuum. The N79 has a brushless motor which gives it better suction and with a v-shaped rotary brush and side brushes underneath it offers good cleaning on hardwood floors and carpets.
The filters and brushes can be bought easily on Amazon.com if you need to replace them at any time. It won’t work well on deep pile carpets but should work on normal types of carpet. This vacuum can run for 1.7 hours on one charge which is really good and will let you clean a larger area.
This machine has a high efficiency filter but the dust bin is smaller than some other robot vacuums so you might need to empty it more often. This Deebot can be controlled by the remote control included or by an app on your phone, it has the option to be scheduled for cleaning on a daily basis and has the option to run automatically, it can be used in single room mode, it can be set to edge clean and spot-clean simply and easily. It has anti-collision sensors and anti-drop sensors to keep it moving safely around your home with minimal intervention. The machine cleans in a random type pattern and can return to the dock for recharging when the power runs down. A good little all rounder, well worth checking out.
#4 ILIFE A4s Robot Vacuum Cleaner
The ILIFE brand has a few options of robot vacuum cleaners and we’ll cover 3 of them in our list because they offer good features and are budget friendly. This ILIFE A4s vacuum cleaner is priced at the current time as the banner below. The A4s can clean both hardwood floors and thin carpeted floors, it has a tangle-free brush installed and 2 side brushes so it can collect lots of dirt and debris and has a good suction to lift it up.
This vacuum also has a max function so you can have added suction if you have carpets on your floors. It can run for up to 140 minutes on a charge which can give you a good clean. It works in a random fashion around the floor and the sensors stop if from banging into the walls or into objects very well, and as with most robot vacuums it has sensors which stop it going over an edge.
It is controlled with a remote control which is included and you can use this to schedule daily cleaning if you want your machine to work when you’re out or even when you’re in. The A4s runs very quietly so isn’t too intrusive if you want it to clean when you’re at home. This vacuum has an average size dustbin but does come with a hepa filter so good for you if you suffer from allergies. This offers all the features you might require from a vacuum in this price range.
#5 ILIFE V3s Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
This is another ILIFE vacuum but this one has a dry mop attachment. This ILIFE V3s Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, price on the banner below, can clean hardwood floors with ease although it can only manage thin carpets.
This vacuum cleans using 2 side brushes and the suction opening on the base of the unit, it can also have a dry mop attached to the base which will drag along underneath and polish the floor picking up anything left behind by the suction. This dry mop can’t be used on carpet as it creates too much friction.
The machine is very quiet to run and can clean for 100 minutes on a charge. With a profile of only 3 inches it can fit well under furniture. Again this unit comes with a hepa filter installed in the dust bin which is fitted inside the cleaner and accessed by pressing the top of the unit to raise the lid.
The filter makes this a good machine for anyone who has allergies. The ILIFE V3s is controlled via the remote control and can be scheduled to clean daily if you wish, you can also spot clean if you have a specific dirty area. If your flooring is mostly carpet then I wouldn’t go for this machine but if you have mostly hardwood floors then this is a good cheap version to buy.
#6 Pure Clean Smart Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
This Pure Clean Smart Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is the cheapest robot vacuum we are looking at today, price on the banner below. As you can imagine from the price this does not have much in the way of features but if you are looking for a vacuum that you can put on the floor and let it clean while you do something else then this will work for you.
This vacuum is bright green and it’s the first thing you notice, it is simple to use with only 3 options for cleaning. These being a 10 minute, 20 minute or 90 minute choice. The robot vacuum has a 90 minute cleaning capability and takes 3 hours to charge. It is charged with a cable plugged into a socket, there is no docking station with this robot.
It works best on hard floors and thin carpet, it has a small rotary brush underneath and a side brush to get at the edges, it collects this dust in a compartment underneath the machine, it’s relatively easy to empty but it isn’t a removable container so you need to open it over a rubbish bin.
There are sensors on this robot vacuum which stops it from bumping into objects and they work very well although there are no drop sensors so don’t run it near steps or it’s likely to fall down them. This sweeps up dirt really well, but no bells and whistles on this little fella.

The maximum running time is 110 minutes although less if you use the intensive mode which gives you faster rotating speed on the brush and higher suction, great for carpets.
There is a spot-clean mode, an edge-clean mode and the normal automatic mode which you would use for normal cleaning. The Deebot M80 is controlled by an app on your phone where you can schedule cleaning on a daily basis. Ecovac accessories are readily available on Amazon.com.
